Those angry atheists

I got an email today from my friend Jon that had a link to a very interesting Nightline show on NBC. It features Kirk Cameron & Ray Comfort debating the existence of God with a couple of atheists. The two atheists are the people behind the blasphemy challenge website.

It may be disturbing for those who are not secure in your faith, yet I believe it is worth the watch. It will help you as you think through why you believe in God. You can check out the show at http://abcnews.go.com/Nightline There is a lot there so watch whatever clips you have time for.

I personally found it interesting how the atheists tend to be angry at God, religion, and faith in general. Especially since they both claim to be former Christians! Anger seems to be a main driving force behind the atheist movement. I pray that is never our motivation as we do our best to communicate the love of Jesus.

I'd love to hear some of your feedback when you have time.

You may also want to check out this article for a good rebuttle to the atheists claims:

Godspeed my friends,

Its was a very interesting debate. Ray Comfort is one of my favorite evangelist. I was very impressed with the moderation, in that there was no noticeable bias. I think that Ray and Kirk should have let the apologetics up to the big boys (Ravi Zacharias, Lee Strobel, Alister McGrath). I mean face it... this is the same guy that used a banana as proof that we didnt evolve. It works on the street but when it comes to a debate like this, it needs to have a solid scientific foundation.

Other than that, I was very blessed to hear the gospel on national television.

Hi Evan-

You were right. It was hard to listen to. At first I was going to get very mad at especially the woman atheist, but as the program went on I became so very very sorry for her. Her hatred towards God and the Bible and the believers was painful to see and to me was an evidence that the Holy Spirit had gotten through to her at one time or another with His convicting power and she hardened her rebelious heart against Him.
I thought that their "logic" was very illogical and they ignored some very important facts-- But the gospel was given over and over and His word is still living and able to work in rebellious hearts. Thank God for faithful men who will stand strong.

Hope all is going well with you and Kelly and the great family God has blessed you with.
